Technical Communication, Content Strategy, and Information Design

I have had a 30+ year career in technical communication, during which time I wrote, edited, designed, developed, and delivered a wide range of technical and business documents for employers and clients in many industry sectors, primarily in software development and the financial sector. For 10 years I was a part-time Associate Lecturer for the distance-learning MA in Technical Communication course at Sheffield Hallam University.

I was a volunteer Council Member of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators, and I chaired TCUK, the UK’s leading annual conference for Technical Communication professionals, for four years (2012-2015). Subsequently I was Council Member responsible for Professional Development and Recognition, which included education, training and CPD.

My professional goal has always been to help companies and teams create better technical content for their customers and staff. I am semi-retired, and I undertake ad hoc consulting projects or short-term contract work from time to time. Please get in touch via the Contact page.
